Ulaan Bataar to Beijing
In total contrast to the Russian leg the rail journey from Mongolia to China was superb.
After leaving Ulaan Baatar the train climbed up into the Gobi desert. We passed wild horses, camels and the odd wolf. Very barren but also very beautiful, bright sunshine with a very chilling wind. The following morning we crossed the border into China, changed the bogies and on our way to Beijing.
Spent the morning in the dining car scoffing Chinese food, making up for the last week or so.
Arrived in Beijing early afternoon, details to follow (am at HongKong airport awaiting a connecting flight to Osaka). In a nutshell Beijing is vast, definitely a brasil rather than a peanut.
